A full central HVAC system is not always an affordable or necessary option for your heating and cooling needs. Sometimes a smaller and more affordable system is a better option; a Ductless Mini-Split unit might be that option.
Window units can be a good option if you are on a tight budget. A window unit is small and affordable but is not without drawbacks.
Ductless units are quieter. Ductless mini-splits and central HVAC units are installed with the noisiest parts of the system hidden and out of sight. Window units are installed in plain sight in a window or opening in the wall of a room and you hear every noise the system makes.
Window units are less secure. Because window units must occupy a window or opening in your wall, they also leave a gap in your security. Burglars can remove the unit and use that as an access point to enter your home.
Min-Split units are expandable. Ductless units can cool multiple rooms. You can connect more than one unit to the outside condenser. On the other hand, each room would lose a window to accommodate a window unit.
Ductless AC units are versatile. Mini-Splits can be used for different applications.
Multiple Rooms – Ductless Mini-Splits can be expanded and used to cool more than just one room.
Sheds and Workshops – Mini-Splits are a good choice for your shed or workshop. They won’t take up the one window you most likely have.
Tiny Houses – Ductless units are ideal for tiny houses. Mini-Splits are small, quiet and can be expanded for use in more than one room.
Ductless Mini-Split units can be a great solution to your heating and cooling needs. Whether it is for your home or other application, a ductless unit may be the right choice for you.
